The Woolls scholarship is awarded to a student beginning library and information studies at an ALA accredited school with the intention of pursuing a career in school library media service. Requirements for this scholarship include:
  1. Applicant must have been admitted to a graduate program in library and information studies accredited by the American Library Association and have not completed more than 12 hours by the Fall semester following the March 15th deadline.
  2. Applicant should have the clear intention of pursuing a career in school library media service.
  3. A completed application form (download PDF here) or from the national office.
  4. One page typed autobiography. Applicants are judged upon several factors but the autobiographical note is of prime importance.
  5. Up to date transcripts from all institutions of higher learning. If you wish to have your transcripts returned to you, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. You should receive your transcripts (unless prohibited by your school) by late July.
  6. Three letters of recommendation from academic instructors, employers, and/or supervisors of paid or volunteer work experience.
