Rachel Delaney: Sarah Rebecca Reed Recipient

Rachel Delaney is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Library Science at the University of Kentucky. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2000 with a B.A. in Environmental Science and International Studies. She worked for 5 years in publishing at Northwestern University Press, as Assistant Acquisitions Editor and Subsidiary Rights Manager. Feeling the calling of librarianship, she relocated in late 2005 to the Cincinnati area with her husband and began working in the library at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys Andrew W. Breidenbach Environmental Research Center, handling interlibrary loan. She is also working in the University of Kentuckys Digital Programs Lab on the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). The NDNP, a joint endeavor by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress, is creating a national digital resource of historically significant newspapers that will be part of a searchable database freely accessible via the Internet.
