Maria E. Gonzalez

Maria E. Gonzalez is a doctoral candidate in the School of Information at the University of Texas. She combines research with teaching and writing about preservation. As a consultant, Maria tailors preservation workshops and adapts materials to address the cultural and technical concerns of archives, libraries, and museums in the Caribbean. She is the author of HURACÁN CARIBE, a bilingual guide on hurricane preparedness for Caribbean institutions. She has investigated the diverse needs, users, and organizations of library and archival collections in Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Curaçao, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad as well as in the United States. Born in Havana, Cuba, Maria is fluent in Spanish and English.
