Dave Harmeyer

Dave Harmeyer grew up in Southern California eventually earning a Master in Library Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1993 where he also accepted the nomination as membership in Beta Phi Mu. Having completed two additional masters degrees in theology and pastoral studies, Dave pursued a Doctorate in Education from Pepperdine University in Educational Technology, graduating in 2006. His dissertation title was Online Virtual Chat Library Reference Service: Dave HarmeyerA Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis where he established a conceptual model of online chat reference accuracy based on a content analysis of 333 academic reference chat transcripts from 120 virtual librarians at forty-three institutions across the U.S. Since 1999 Dave has been Chair of the William V. Marshburn Memorial Library, one of three on-campus libraries at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California and was appointed Associate Professor in 2001. Dave lives in Glendora, California with his wife Sheli and two daughters Breanna and Sophia, enjoying time with them and friends at church, at home and on vacations.
